After 10 days of blessed debauchery all I wanted when we touched down this afternoon was some quiet time to start my first day of 2017 back home. But Gesu was closed so I walked over to the Jesuit Residence – and THERE, THERE! what a beautiful treat the Lord prepared! A beautiful couple celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary with a Mass in the JR chapel overlooking a beautiful afternoon in Loyola Heights. Beautiful readings, beautiful homily by the Fr. Manoling Francisco, beautiful music.
Not my dreams, Lord, but your dreams, plans, ambitions – all you want for me, for all of us. THANK YOU!!!
And thank you for this song that of all songs greeted my soul when I first entered your chapel this afternoon. Yes, Lord, I know it…
You shall cross the barren desert
But you shall not die of thirst.
You shall wander far in safety
Though you do not know the way.
You shall speak your words in foreign lands
And they will understand.
Be not afraid
I go before you always.
Come follow me.
